OVERVIEW
The Senior Network Architect will be focused on designing, implementing, and supporting technology solutions for small, medium and enterprise business, educational and government clients. The Senior Network Architect will be the technical resource and solution expert for client engagements. The Senior Network Architect works directly with Netrix clients to uncover business or technical needs that can be fulfilled through networking technology and Netrix consulting services. The Senior Network Architect will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position technology solutions. Working closely with assigned sales personnel, the Senior Network Architect is responsible for all of the technical aspects of the sale during the entire sales cycle and is often involved with the client post-purchase.
This is a hybrid role of pre-sales/client facing and post-sales experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary of job responsibilities include the following:
- Participate in customer-facing meetings to determine business and technical requirements necessary to develop client solutions
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients
- Develop solution proposals that define customer expectations, and product and services requirements that are necessary to achieve client objectives
- Strategically collaborate with partners including Cisco, Microsoft, Citrix, HP, VMware and others to drive business
- Educate Netrix sales and consulting delivery teams in Networking Solutions
- Develop project documentation, including statements of work, detailed project plans, architecture designs, detailed implementation plans, deployment plans, project test plans, and operational training material
- Architect highly available, scalable and robust systems, network and wireless designs
- Configure VPN, Wireless technologies, routers, switches, system security and firewalls
- Other duties may be assigned
PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of sales, design, and implementation experience in network technology solutions
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience with the following is required:
- Expert level technical knowledge of Cisco products and the strategic direction of networking technologies
- Expert technical knowledge of Cisco routing and switching platforms
- Expert technical knowledge of Cisco wireless solutions
- Experience in designing and implementing high availability data center networks
- In-depth experience with IP routing protocols
- Design experience with new network topologies as needed, incorporating best practices around WAN/LAN, mobility, switching, routing, security and convergence
- Cisco CCIE, Security, IP Telephony preferred
- Familiarity with Network Security
- Familiarity with IP and MPLS networking
- Strong customer interface skills to gather solution requirements and translate into hardware architecture and services proposals
- Strong leadership abilities and consultative skills to architect, design, and implement solutions
- Able to support the sales organization throughout the entire sales life-cycle related to customer solutions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills; must be comfortable speaking in front of audiences of different sizes; must be able to speak on both a business and technical level
- Able to deliver projects with minimal oversight and direction
- Able to obtain certifications as needed
- Able to travel up to 25% or as needed
