This is a hybrid role of pre-sales/client facing and post-sales experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect highly available, scalable and secure Microsoft Infrastructure Solutions
- Configure Windows domains, email systems, file systems, backup systems, server and desktop security systems
- Configure virtual server and application systems
- Participate in customer facing meetings to determine business and technical requirements necessary to develop client solutions
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients
- Strategically collaborate with partners including Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and others to drive the business
- As part of an engagement team, conduct complex, strategic analyses of our client's IT organizations, operating models, processes, applications and infrastructure and formulate strategic recommendations and roadmaps to improve our clients IT functions
- Educate our sales and consulting delivery teams in Microsoft System Solutions
- Develop solution proposals that define customer expectations, and product and services requirements that are necessary to achieve client objectives
- Develop project documentation, including statements of work, detailed project plans, architecture designs, detailed implementation plans, deployment plans, project test plans, and operational training material
PREREQUISITES
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the delivery of full lifecycle solutions - assessment, design, testing, implementation, management and troubleshooting - utilizing Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, System Center (SMS, MOM), XP, Vista and Windows 7.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria and responsibilities:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of design and implementation experience in systems technology solutions
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience with the following is required:
- Expert technical knowledge of Microsoft products and the strategic direction of related technologies
- Expert technical knowledge of systems management platforms
- Expert technical knowledge of security and anti-X solutions
- Expert technical knowledge of backup solutions
- Expert Technical knowledge of virtualization solutions
- Experience in designing and implementing high availability clusters
- In-depth experience with IP routing protocols
- Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and technical business continuity
- In-depth expertise in one or more of the following specializations:
- Microsoft Exchange
- Desktop and Server Management (System Center, Altiris, LanDesk, Desktop Authority)
- Server Virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix)
- Security (TMG Server, WSUS/Patch Management, Antivirus, Anti-Spam, Content Filtering, Server Hardening)
- Desktop and Application Virtualization (Terminal Server, Citrix XenApp, VMware View)
- Server hardware design, configuration, support, and troubleshooting (HP, IBM, Dell)
- Storage Area Network design, configuration, support and troubleshooting
- Unified Communications (Office Communication Server)
- SQL Server
- SharePoint
- Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services
SOFT SKILLS
- Experience with conducting workshops, seminars, and presentations on specific areas of expertise
- Strong customer interface skills to gather solution requirements and translate into hardware architecture and services proposals
- Strong leadership abilities and consultative skills to architect, design, and implement solutions
- Passion for technology, client service and quality. Wants to and strives to be the best through specific actions and goals

- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills; proven track record in writing assignments, designs, checklists, and documentation; must be comfortable speaking in front of audiences of different sizes; must be able to speak on both a business and technical level
- Able to obtain certifications as needed
- Able to deliver projects with minimal oversight and direction
- Able to travel up to 15% or as needed
DESIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (with Server or Exchange competency)
